MEET OUR COACHES

The Heavy Hitting Wrestling Club is compromised of several coaches with various wrestling and educational backgrounds. They work tirelessly to ensure that our athletes have the best experience as possible on the mat. Proudly, all of the coaches here at HHH are volunteer coaches and do not profit from our organization.

Travis Ferguson - Club Director

Coach Ferguson is the Head wrestling coach at Tallwood High School. He is an alumnae and former state champion for Ocean Lakes High School in Virginia Beach, Va. Coach Ferguson is one of the pioneers of HHH and serves as the head of the program who oversees the day to day operations of the club.

Angelo Patillo - Head High School Coach

Coach Patillo serves as the Head High School coach for HHH and oversees the high school/middle school athletes as well as our dual team(s). Coach P is the former Head coach at Lake Taylor High School and currently serves as a coach at Tallwood High School. He is an alumnae of Churchland High School in Portsmouth, Va. Coach P is also another pioneer of the club. He designs all club gear/merchandise.

Karl Kumm - HHH Deep Creek Lead

Coach K is the Head wrestling coach at Deep Creek High School in Chesapeake, Va. He is a alumnae of Deep Creek High School and currently teaches History at Deep Creek High School. Coach Kumm is a great fill guy here at HHH and serves many pourposes.

Jim "Fight" White - HHH High School Coach

Coach White is Chesapeake native and Hickory High School Alumni. He currently serves as the Asst. Wrestling Coach at Deep Creek High School. Coach White is a staple for his Greco-Roman know and brings a wealth of knowledge. As a former Marine and Middle School wrestling coach, he is no stranger to Hampton Roads wrestling. Coach White is looking to enhance our brand and floats around to all HHH locations.

Adam Wynn - High School Coach

Coach Wynn helps with the High School team and serves as an assistant coach at Deep Creek High School. He is an alumnae and former head coach at Churchland High School. Coach Wynn also serves as a Deep Creek High School football coach.

John Adams -Peewee Coach

Coach Adams is a long time wrestling coach at Deep Creek High School. He began coaching at Deep Creek High School in Chesapeake, Va in 1991. He serves as the head of our peewee/beginner program. Coach Adams is a rare gem and is very patient with our youth. HHH is lucky to have such a great and kind coach who teaches our youth.

Arsenia Barksdale- High School Coach

Coach Barksdale is a wrestling legend. A two time state champion from Kempsville High School who continued his wrestling career at Adams State. He was a D2 All American and was recently inducted into the D2 Hall of Fame. Coach Barksdale has been instrumental to several of the top Hampton Roads team's success. We are lucky to have him.

Rahime Young - HHH Bayside Lead

Coach Young is the Head wrestling coach at Bayside High School and oversees operation at our HHH Bayside location in Virginia Beach, Va. Coach Young is a graduate of Eastside High School in Patterson, New Jersey under the tutelage of the infamous Mr. Joe Clark (lean on me). He has trained/coached several state champions, placers and qualifiers in his tenure at Bayside. Coach Young serves as one of the essential pieces of the HHH Brand.

Steve Kidwell - HHH Bayside Coach

Coach Kidwell assists Coach Young over at Bayside High School. Coach Kidwell is very knowledgeable and demonstrative with the Athletes over at HHH Bayside. He is a graduate of Arundel High School in Gambrills, MD and went on to wrestle 4 years at the Coast Guard Academy. Coach Kidwell is another amazing coach and jewel to our HHH family.

Charles Richardson - HHH Kempsville Lead

Coach Richardson is the head wrestling coach at Kempsville High School and oversees operations at our HHH Kempsville location in Virginia Beach, Va. Coach Richardson is a native of Va Beach and wrestled at Ocean Lakes HS. He has previously coached at Tallwood School, where he had a successful teams.
